20 Jun 2007

US telco Cincinnati Bell has launched a fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) product under the name CB Home Run. Subscribers can use a single handset for both cellular calls and Wi-Fi internet access. The telco expects the service to be used in homes, offices and at public Wi-Fi hotspots, with wireless LAN networks offering faster data access and cheap internet-based voice calls. Cincinnati Bell offers Wi-Fi access at around 300 public locations.
