19 Jun 2007

Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) today announced the launch of a free e-mail service to its contract mobile subscriber base – a first in the Asia Pacific region. The new MobileMil service allows SingTel Mobile users to send and receive e-mails on their handsets for free, although users will receive text and graphic advertisements with the messages, the company said in a statement. People signing up to the new service will be able to customise their e-mail profile and set up multiple e-mail accounts on their phone. Moreover, they can also have e-mails from their Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail acounts pushed automatically to their handset if they wish.
