Du launches international video calls

UAE second national operator (SNO) du announced at the weekend that it would soon launch international live video calls to 14 countries, including the UK, the Philippines and South Africa. The cost of the service will be AED4.2 (USD1.14) per minute. Du is seeking to distinguish itself from its more established rival Etisalat and lessen its reliance on traditional voice and data traffic by introducing new products and services such as such home cameras accessible over mobile phones, mobile broadband, mobile TV, and the ability to pay bills using mobile handsets.
