FTMSC rebrands as Vizada

13 Jun 2007

France Télécom Mobile Satellite Communications (FTMSC), a provider of mobile satellite communications services, has rebranded itself as Vizada. The re-launch marks a new era for the provider: the former FTMSC was bought out by funds managed by Apax Partners in 2006. Now a wholly autonomous unit, Vizada will market and develop mobile satellite services for customers based in areas with limited terrestrial telecom infrastructure. The company claims to offer a comprehensive solution, utilising maritime and terrestrial-based services of all leading mobile satellite operators (Inmarsat, Thuraya, Iridium) with airtime, hardware, in-house developed applications and customised solutions.
