MT restructuring widens to take in six more units

11 Jun 2007

Hungarian incumbent fixed line operator Magyar Telekom (MT) has revealed plans to integrate six subsidiary ventures into its systems integration division, T-Systems Hungary, as part of wider moves to restructure the company. Thomson Financial writes that under the latest reorganisation, T-Systems will be separated into two units – IT Infrastructure and IT Applications. The former will comprise the activities of subsidiaries BCN, ICON and KFKI-LNX, and will be responsible for network and system integration, network operation, network security and IT consultancy services. Meanwhile, the IT Applications division will be made up of Integris, IQSYS and T-Systems and will be responsible for on-site support and operations as well as for application integration, development and operation. Finally, a third division, Infocom, will assume responsibility for the group’s managing voice services, data communication, and outsourcing activities. MT will seek shareholder approval for the plan at an EGM on 29 June.
