6 Jun 2007

Zimbabwe’s former monopoly fixed line operator TelOne has launched commercial CDMA wireless in the local loop (WiLL) services, with initial capacity for 30,000 new fixed-wireless lines, following a network rollout by China’s Huawei Technologies. The first phase of the CDMA network covers the capital, Harare, and its environs, with subsequent phases planned for Bulawayo and smaller towns.
