Converged service could get go-ahead

6 Jun 2007

Italy’s telecoms regulator Agcom is expected to give clearance today for Vodafone Italia’s converged fixed-mobile service. The watchdog is considering lifting some of the restrictions on the marketing of the product, which allows calls to a fixed line number to be taken on a Vodafone mobile phone. A service from Telecom Italia which allows a mobile handset to be used for both cellular and fixed line calls when at the customer’s home is still subject to a number of restrictions imposed by Agcom.
