Carrefour unveils Italian MVNO

The Carrefour retail chain has set up a new mobile resale business in Italy which it plans to launch later this week. The mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) has signed a wholesale agreement to use capacity on Vodafone Italy’s network. Services will be offered under the name UnoMobile, with national calls costing a flat EUR0.18 per minute and SMS messages costing EUR0.12. International calls will be charged at EUR0.50 a minute. Carrefour already operates as a reseller in a number of European mobile markets.
