German telco Versatel has entered an agreement with cellco E-Plus to provide cellular services over the latter’s network. The agreement will enable Versatel to offer triple-play packages of DSL internet access, fixed line and mobile telephony. Details of the complete packages and the tariff structure will be made known in the coming weeks. Versatel is yet to establish itself as a major player in the German broadband arena. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, it ended 2006 with half a million broadband subscribers, out of a market total of around 15 million.
