ZTE to build CDMA network for UTG

Chinese vendor ZTE has announced the signing of a contract in Georgia for construction of a code division multiple access (CDMA) wireless in the local loop (WiLL) network for incumbent telco United Telecom of Georgia (UTG). The first phase of the network is expected to be completed by August 2007 and will provide voice and data services for over 100,000 subscribers in the Kakheti region of west Georgia.
