PacNet Hong Kong awarded fixed line licence

Pacific Internet Hong Kong, a wholly owned subsidiary of pan-Asian internet communications service provider Pacific Internet (PacNet), has acquired a Services-Based Operator (SBO) licence to operate IP fixed line telephony from Hong Kong’s telecoms regulator, OFTA. The award includes the allocation of eight-digit telephone numbers and the prefix ‘5800’. PacNet announced that the new licence will facilitate the extension of its business-grade IP telephony service, PacNet Vocal, in Hong Kong, following a regional rollout across eight countries including Singapore, the Philippines, India and Thailand.
