Telstra to launch pre-paid services on its Next G network

22 May 2007

This Thursday Telstra will launch its first pre-paid mobiles on its HSDPA network branded Next G. The move is hoped to encourage 2G CDMA subscribers to make the switch to the next generation network. ‘We’ve ensured Telstra’s existing pre-paid calling rate remains the same for our pre-paid Next G customers,’ said Telstra consumer and marketing executive director, Tim Cooper. Telstra plans to shut down its CDMA network sometime in 2008.
