Taiwan Mobile has announced that it plans to acquire a majority stake in Taiwan Telecommunication Network Services (TTN), the third largest ISP in Taiwan, with the aim of developing a converged digital services portfolio. The cellco says it hopes to eventually obtain a 100% stake in TNN. PCCW, Hong Kong’s largest telco, is the majority shareholder in TTN with a 62% stake. TTN specialises in value-added network services catering to business users, with around a third of the VPN customer market.
