Nepal Telecom (NT) yesterday launched a limited 3G mobile service in the country to mark the nation’s International Telecom Day. NT director Buddhi Acharya says the firm is offering a 3G SIM card priced at NPR4,105 (USD64.50) and that charges for using the service will be similar to those of its pre-paid mobile service. The operator has set a price of NPR10/minute of video conferencing services, and will offer a fixed rate of NPR3 per minute for video streaming. At launch the new service will be available within the Ring Road area in the capital city, Kathmandu.
