TIM Hellas reverses previous year’s net loss

Greek cellco TIM Hellas’s net profits in the first quarter of 2007 reached EUR8.1 million (USD11 million), compared to net losses of EUR5.6 million in the corresponding period of 2006. The company’s sales for the three months ended 31 March amounted to EUR243 million, up by 13.1% year-on-year, while total group turnover came in at EUR271.6 million. TIM Hellas’s subscriber base grew by 128,078 in the period under review to reach a total of 2,959,918 at the end of March. Subsidiary Q-Telecom added a similar number of net new subscribers in the quarter, 128,898, to take its total subscriber base to 1,201,045.
