Tiscali reports 1Q results

Sardinia-based internet access provider Tiscali added 100,000 broadband customers in the three months to 31 March 2007, taking its total subscriber base to 1.9 million, of which over 700,000 were direct unbundled local loop (ULL) customers. Revenue for the quarter was EUR193.2 million (USD261.3 million), a 25% improvement compared to 1Q2006. EBITDA was up 36% to EUR25.2 million. The group reported a net loss of EUR44 million for 1Q2007, compared to a profit of EUR19.3 million a year earlier, blamed on one-off financing costs. Tiscali’s full year targets are EUR820 million turnover and EBITDA of EUR150 million. Planned CAPEX for the year is EUR200 million.
