Clearwire net loss widens

Wireless ISP Clearwire has reported an increased loss for the first quarter as the company launched services in new markets and expanded its network. Net loss for the period ending 31 March almost doubled to USD92.6 million compared with a USD55.3 million loss in the corresponding period last year. Revenue grew from USD22.8 million to USD29.3 million on the back of the addition of 52,000 new subscribers, taking the total customer base to 258,000. ARPU was up to USD35.8 from USD32.4.
