DoCoMo handsets, now with added Wii

24 Apr 2007

Japanese mobile giant DoCoMo is installing a motion sensor in one of its phone ranges that lets users play games like the Wii from Nintendo. The DoCoMo D904i, which has been built by Mitsubishi, lets users swing the handset like a tennis racket or wield it like sword to control game play, instead of punching on the keypad. The cellco’s move is a direct response to the growing popularity of 3G mobile gaming in Japan, although it is unclear as to how the user views the mobile screen while using the motion sensor capability built in. DoCoMo will begin selling the handset, along with two others, in May.
