Vivendi has confirmed it would consider buying out Vodafone’s 44% stake in French mobile company SFR, reports Reuters citing an interview by the head of the French media and telecoms group with Le Figaro. Vivendi CEO Jean-Bernard Levy reportedly told the French newspaper: ‘If Vodafone … wants to sell its stake, we are ready to buy it … I don’t think this minority participation is meant to last.’ Last year Vodafone said it would be interested in increasing its stake in SFR if the opportunity arose.
