Chunghwa eyes TTN stake

18 Apr 2007

PCCW of Hong Kong is reportedly in talks to offload its 62% stake in Taiwanese internet service provider Taiwan Telecommunication Network Service (TTN). Reuters names Chunghwa as the likely buyer, with the stake estimated to be worth around HKD1 billion (USD128 million); PCCW paid HKD90 million for a 6% stake in TTN earlier this year. Founded in November 1989, TTN was the first privately owned company to provide network services in Taiwan. It now provides a portfolio of value added network services to several thousand corporate customers.
