Iliad, neuf Cegetel and Noos line up to acquire Club Internet, paper says

11 Apr 2007

Three French telecoms groups, Iliad, neuf Cegetel and Noos-Numericable – backed by Altice and Cinven – have each submitted bids to acquire T-Online France (Club Internet), an ISP being sold by Deutsche Telekom (DT). Reports in the business daily add that Telecom Italia also considered participating, but in the end did not submit a bid. It is thought that DT’s French unit will raise ‘not much less than EUR500 million’, significantly more than the EUR280 million paid by neuf Cegetel in 2006 for AOL’s French operations. Club Internet has 600,000 subscribers to its high speed internet service.
