Eventis Mobile, which won a GSM license in Moldova in January, is planning to launch services in July, reports business daily Kommersant. The cellco is aiming to sign up 70,000 users by the end of the year, which would give it a 4.4% slice of the market. USD15 million is earmarked for the infrastructure build out, including the installation of 260 base stations covering 40% of territory. The cellco is part of Cyprus-registered Eventis Telecom Holding, owned by two Russians, Dmitry Iventer and Vladimir Androsik. Eventis Telecom Holding also owns Kyrgyz cellco BiMoCom and over half of Uzbek ISP Sarkor.
