Qtel launches international video calling

Qatar’s incumbent telco Qatar Telecom (Qtel) has launched international 3G video calling services for users of its W-CDMA mobile network. The service allows video calls to over 90 networks in more than 50 countries and is available to all post-paid and ‘Hala’ pre-paid customers with no activation fees or additional monthly subscriptions. Qtel’s 3G coverage zone currently includes greater Doha and its outskirts.
