BT Italia eyes mobile deal

28 Mar 2007

The UK-based BT Group is reportedly close to signing a deal which would allow its Italian division to offer mobile services to corporate customers. Business services provider BT Italia is in talks with the country’s number two cellular operator, Vodafone Italia, AFX reports quoting local newspaper Finanza & Mercati. BT has followed a similar course in its domestic market after spinning off its cellular operations several years ago. A number of other groups are also thought to be close to announcing mobile resale deals in Italy; these include retail chain Carrefour and the national postal operator Poste Italiane.
