ADVA to upgrade T-Com network

28 Mar 2007

T-Com, the landline and broadband division of German incumbent Deutsche Telekom, has contracted ADVA Optical Networking to upgrade its next generation optical networks. The metropolitan and regional infrastructure is to be improved with ADVA’s ‘Fibre Service Platform 3000’, which utilises the wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) transmission technology to allow network data speeds of between 8Mbps and 40Gbps, necessary for the provision of triple-play services. The value of the ‘multi-year’ contract is not known.
