27 Mar 2007

Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has selected Redline Communications to roll out a nationwide WiMAX network. The deployments will begin in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. ‘STC is bringing broadband communications in Saudi Arabia to a new level. Our WiMAX network will help us to deliver much needed broadband access to IP-VPN in every city and community in the country,’ said the telco’s president, Saud Bin Majid Al-Daweesh. Redline claims that its WiMAX products have now been trialled or deployed by more than 100 carriers worldwide. More information on WiMAX network deployments can be found in TeleGeography’s WiMAX Market Tracking Service.
