27 Mar 2007

Swedish telecoms network supplier Ericsson says it has won a sole supplier order from Brazilian mobile operator Telemig Celular for a HSPA-enabled 3G/W-CDMA commercial network – a first for Brazil. No financial details were disclosed although it is understood that as part of the deal Ericsson will also be expanding and modernising Telemig Celular’s existing network across Minas Gerais state. Ericsson will provide new 3G/W-CDMA core and radio networks, including HSPA. The vendor will also take end-to-end turnkey responsibility and provide network deployment, systems integration and business consulting services.
