PacNet launches VoIP

20 Mar 2007

Internet service provider Pacific Internet (PacNet) has launched a VoIP solution in the Philippines, dubbed PacNet Vocal. Pacific Internet Philippines president Jojie Yap said the new service will allow users to make phone calls through the internet bypassing the PSTN. The explosion of broadband access in the country means that its customers can now benefit from unlimited calls and hold teleconferences with US-based clients at cheaper and affordable rates. Landline call rates start from PHP20 (USD0.41) per minute for an international direct dial call, while PacNet Vocal charges a customer PHP5 per minute, or 75% lower.
