Belgacom launches MVNO for North Africans in Belgium

Belgacom will launch a new mobile virtual network operation called Mobisud which will target customers from North Africa who live in Belgium. The group said the MVNO, which will use the group’s Proximus network and that of Moroccan peer Maroc Telecom, will launch in the second quarter of 2007. In addition, Belgacom said it has signed an agreement to offer Moroccan channel TVM International on its digital TV platform in Belgium which will be available from 1 April. Both services are aimed at people from Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia, who currently number around 350,000 in Belgium.
