16 Mar 2007

Centennial Communications has completed the sale of its Dominican Republic wireless subsidiary Centennial Dominicana for USD80 million to US-based holding company Trilogy International Partners. Centennial announced the sale in November 2006, but according to local press reports was waiting approval from the DR telecoms watchdog Indotel. Trilogy International, based in Bellevue, Washington, adds the Caribbean cellco to its controlling interest in Nuevatel of Bolivia and Communication Cellulaire d’Haiti (Comcel), both fixed wireless and mobile telephony operators.
