T-Mobile & Vodafone unveil faster HSDPA data rates

The mobile arm of German incumbent Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile, and its rival cellco Vodafone Germany, have both revealed high speed download packet access (HSDPA) speeds of 7.2Mbps at the CeBIT trade show in Hanover. This is double the maximum speed of 3.6Mbps currently available to customers. Both companies said they intended to launch the new service in German cities later on in the year.
