Germany’s second largest wireline provider Arcor has announced its third quarter results for the 2006/7 financial year at the CeBIT trade show in Hanover. Sales of EUR1.57 billion (USD2.07 billion) were recorded, and EBITDA was EUR278 million, up 27% year-on-year. Net profit was EUR79 million, compared with a loss of EUR6 million a year earlier. Arcor’s CEO Harald Stoeber said that the barrier of two million DSL customers was broken in February, and that the first nine months of the fiscal year had seen the company invest EUR186 million in expansion of infrastructure and capacity. He added that Arcor intends to test internet TV in the city of Kassel later this year.
