Slovak Telekom’s revenues, profits grow on mobile, broadband sales

Consolidated revenues of the Slovak Telekom Group in 2006 totalled SKK30.5 billion (USD1.17 billion), a 4.5% increase compared with 2005, driven by 9.4% turnover growth in its mobile business, a 28.3% rise in IP/internet service revenues and a lower fixed line sales decrease (-1.2%). Annual net income rose 11.8% to SKK2.22 billion. Telekom’s number of fixed lines in service fell by 2% to 1.069 in 2006, whilst DSL subscribers rose by 75% to 182,000. Its wholly owned mobile subsidiary T-Mobile Slovensko reported a total of 2.201 million GSM subscribers at end-2006, up from 2.022 million at the start of the year.
