Telekom Srbije submits highest bid for wireless internet licence

A consortium comprising the Serbian telco Telekom Srbije and the Dutch company Ogalar has submitted the highest bid in the tender for three licences to provide wireless internet access in Montenegro. According to the Podgorica daily newspaper Vijesti, the consortium bid EUR1.05 million (USD1.38 million) for the concession. The second-highest bidder was the Podgorica-based company Broadband Montenegro, owned by the Montenegrin businessman Veselin Barovic, which offered EUR275,000. Bids were also submitted by Bulgaria’s Nexcom (EUR180,001) and T-Mobile (EUR172,500). The winners are expected to be announced by 28 March at the latest.
