NetOne’s new switching centre expands capacity

2 Mar 2007

Zimbabwean mobile operator NetOne commissioned a new switching centre in Bulawayo at the end of last week in an effort to ease GSM network congestion and improve service quality. The new switch, which serves the southern region, has a capacity of over 700,000 lines and will also expedite call processing. For the last ten years NetOne has relied on only one mobile switching centre, in Harare, catering for the whole country.
