eircom hints at line rental rises by year-end

1 Mar 2007

Irish incumbent fixed line operator eircom could raise its monthly line rental charges by the end of the year, reports unison.ie. Commenting on the operator’s latest set of quarterly results, eircom chief executive Rex Combs is quoted as saying that a price increase was not his immediate priority and would not happen ‘for the next two quarters’. The last hike in line rental fees took place three years ago. The former monopoly can apply to the regulator ComReg to request an increase in line with inflation.
