Chunghwa: USD163m investment in NGN this year

Chunghwa Telecom says it will spend TWD5.37 billion (USD163 million) this year rolling out a next-generation network (NGN) under a TWD61.2 billion five-year plan. DigiTimes reports that TWD370 million of this year’s investment will go towards supplying 210,000 xDSL lines, TWD1.4 billion will provide IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) equipment, and TWD3.6 billion for expanding Chunghwa’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks.
