Paraguay’s mobile operators posted combined revenues of USD345 million in 2006, up 37.1% year-on-year. The country’s mobile market is home to four operators: Telecel, which is backed by Millicom, Nucleo, owned by Telecom Argentina, Japanese-owned Hola and América Móvil subsidiary CTI Móvil. The figures were reported by local newspaper ABC Color, which cites Paraguay’s economy ministry. The country was home to around 2.9 million cellular subscribers at the end of September, up from two million at the start of the year.
