HTIL and Vodafone sign three year non-compete pact

Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited (HTIL) has entered into a three-year non-compete agreement with Vodafone as part of the latter’s USD11.08 billion acquisition of a 67% stake in Hutchison Essar. HTIL’s board of directors said it had entered into a three-year agreement with Vodafone, under which it agrees to not compete against Hutchison Essar. HTIL may also not offer jobs to any key employees of Hutchison Essar within six months of completion of the sale.
