TP fined again

20 Feb 2007

Telekomunikacja Polska (TP) has been fined PLN600,000 (USD202,000) for having lowered prices and changed the terms of its internet service without seeking permission from the country’s regulator. The fine is the second for TP this month, after the regulator – UKE – fined the company PLN200,000 for failing to notify it of changes in prices for phone calls. The watchdog has yet to decide whether to fine the company, which is controlled by France Télécom, as much as PLN356 million over what it has called ‘excessive fees’ to customers who subscribed to TP’s internet service without taking fixed line voice services.
