New GSM spectrum to be auctioned

Russia’s telecoms regulator the Federal Communications Agency is preparing a tender for GSM cellular frequencies which is due to be held by mid-August. GSM spectrum will be available in 46 Russian regions, Prime Tass reports, citing local newspaper Kommersant. MTS and Vimpelcom have said that they would be interested in bidding for additional frequencies, while MegaFon has still to decide.
