In 2006 Canadian full-service telco TELUS earned CAD1.12 billion (USD963.2 million) in net income, up by 60% from CAD700 million the previous year, on revenues that rose by 7% to CAD8.68 billion. Fourth quarter revenues increased by 8% year-on-year to CAD2.25 billion due to continued strong wireless and data services growth, and 4Q net profit was CAD236 million, more than triple the year-ago figure of CAD78.5 million. 2005’s final quarter results were hurt by financing charges on the redemption of long-term debt, as well as ‘labour disruption’ costs, TELUS added.
