Telenet posts first ever FY net profit

Belgian triple play telco Telenet has posted full year results which show a net profit for the first time in the group’s history. The company posted net profit of EUR8.5 million (USD11.7 million) after a net loss of EUR77 million last year. EBITDA was EUR366.6 million, up from EUR337.9 million in 2005, while sales were EUR813.5 million, compared to EUR733.5 million. The group posted a 34% rise in triple-play subscribers over the year and activated 21,000 SIM cards under its new mobile service. It also saw 105,000 additional broadband subscribers over the year, taking its total to 729,000.
