Belize network expansion gets go-ahead

Belize Telecom (BTL) has announced that it has received regulatory approval to roll out a USD15 million wireless network, to extend its voice and high speed internet coverage to rural and underserved areas. As well as targeting residential and business users in rural communities, the new 450MHz network is designed to fulfill BTL’s commitments to serve the emergency services and connect all state-run primary and secondary schools to the internet.
