16 Feb 2007

Tele2 of Sweden says sales at its Russian cellular operation almost tripled in 2006, to SEK2.8 billion (USD399 million). The firm ended the year with 6.453 million subscribers, almost double the end-2005 figure. Monthly average revenue per user was up 28% year-on-year in the final three months of 2006 to SEK55. Tele2 is the fourth largest mobile operator in Russia, but is well behind the big three operators – MTS, Vimpelcom and MegaFon – in terms of market share.
