Saudi Arabia’s second largest cellular operator Mobily has launched new networks covering some of the main highways in the north of the country. The firm, which is owned by Etisalat of the UAE, has added the 240km road between Hail and Alula to its network, as well as the 110km Wajh coastal highway, reports AME Info. Mobily says its networks now offer coverage of some 20,000km of roads. Mobily launched in May 2005 and had 4.8 million subscribers at the end of September 2006, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database.
