Moscom goes for IP

Moscow cable operator Moscom has selected Alcatel-Lucent to supply an IP network over which it plans to offer an improved package of services for businesses, as well as triple-play TV, telephony and high speed internet services for residential users. The first phase of the new network is due to go live by the end of next month. The operator says it is planning to add services such as video-on-demand (VoD), online gaming and personal TV in the near future. Moscom has more than three million customers in the Russian capital.
