Wataniya boosts Bravo interest

The Kuwaiti telco Wataniya International has increased its stake in Saudi iDEN operator Bravo from 38% to 47%. Ahmad Haleem, CEO at Wataniya International, commented: ‘Bravo has been a tremendous success with the business segment in the Kingdom. We are keen to continue investing in Saudi Arabia’s dynamic and fast-growing market.’ Bravo launched in July 2005 and offers mobile services solely to business users. Its networks currently cover Mecca, Medina, Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam and Dhahran, plus the Mecca-Jeddah highway, and it had almost 40,000 customers at the end of September 2006.
