MTS-Uzbekistan ends 2006 with 1.5 million customers

MTS-Uzbekistan, the Uzbeki wireless network operator formerly known as Uzdunrobita, has reported that its customer base more than doubled in 2006, rising from 600,000 to 1.5 million. According to government statistics, there were over 2.72 million wireless subscribers in Uzbekistan as of 1 January 2007.
