PT Indonesian Satellite Corporation (Indosat) is targeting corporate business services in 2007 and aims to generate revenues of IDR1 trillion (USD110.1 million) from this segment in the coming fiscal year. Bambang Priantono, Indosat’s senior vice president of national corporate sales, said that Indosat would develop a new optical cable network to help meet this target. The operator is investing 15% of its USD1 billion CAPEX for 2006 on the project, including the Surabaya-Bali and Surabaya-Makassar fibre-optic lines, and the Batam-Singapore and Batam-Pekanbaru lines. Indosat’s business services division has already developed a fibre-optic network covering 200 buildings in Jakarta with 1,000 subscribing companies.
